Letter from Pastor Lucas

Dear Sanctuary Family,

We are excited to be able to return to onsite services beginning May 3. I want to express how appreciative I am with everyone’s cooperation during the quarantine and stay-at-home order. The decision to conduct services via livestream rather than on campus was not an easy one, but necessary for the moment. That moment has passed, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone and experiencing the beauty of corporate worship.

I know it has been said repeatedly, but this has been an unprecedented time. Thank you for praying for your pastor, fellow saints, and community. I assure you it has been a strength during this time period. Thank you for joining the livestreams and commenting during the services. What an encouragement to go back after the services and see “Amens” and “Good Preaching” comments! I will unashamedly say I CAN NOT wait to hear them in person.

As pastor during this time, my greatest concern and priority, beyond ministering to our people, is the health and safety of our people, and the reputation of the church. Brother and Sister Kelley worked tirelessly for over twenty-five years to create a good name for the church in Lake Havasu City. That reputation is our highest witness, and more precious than silver and gold. Because of that we are working through the “phasing in” process of returning to full operations.

Due to the continued concerns regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus we want to exercise extreme care and caution as we return to our normal schedule of services. Here are some things that we can all do to ensure the health and safety of all our members, especially those that fall into the higher risk groups.

• STAY HOME if you or a family member are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, the flu, or the common cold. Symptoms include:

o Fever

o Persistent Cough

o Headache associated with flu/cold

o Chills

• If you are still not comfortable getting out or coming to church do not be ashamed if you need to stay home for a bit longer.

• Continue to practice physical distancing as per CDC recommendations in as feasible a manner as possible. o We have asked our First Touch Teams to open the entry doors for you, and routinely wipe down door handles, push plates, and any other surfaces that are periodically touched.

o Refrain from hugs and handshakes for the present time. Give a BIG SMILE and hearty wave, friendly “Hello” or “Praise the Lord” instead.

o If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with your sleeve or tissue.

o Discard you own tissues and trash. Do not leave them laying around for the cleaning crew to pick up.

o Wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20-30 seconds. Encourage your family to do the same.

o Use hand sanitizer as often as needed. Dispenser located by drinking fountain.

o Use the disinfectant wipes to clean surfaces if needed.

• Sit as a family unit. Parents keep your children from roaming about the building. I know it is a difficult thing to ask children to sit or stand quietly, but you are the parent and it is your responsibility to keep them in check. If you are not able to do this, we kindly ask you to keep them at home.

• We are working diligently between services to follow the cleaning guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of Arizona Health Department, and the Mohave County Health Department to ensure our facilities are sanitized to the highest standards possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these changes. We are praying and working toward a quick return to “normal.” If we work together, we can accomplish that goal much sooner.

May God’s abundant blessings and favor be upon each one of you. I am honored to pastor the greatest group of people this side of Heaven. I appreciate each one of you and am expecting mighty revival as we go forth in Jesus Name.
